DESCRIPTION:Harborview Massage and Wellness Center\, 450 Port Orchard Blvd\, #300 hosts a public reception to view donated quilts before they ship out. Appetizers and refreshments served. Come by to pick up a brochure\, make donations of fabric\, or to find out how to become involved.\n\n \n\n American Hero Quilts was founded in 2004 by a Vashon Island Resident who was inspired to provide a quilt to wounded servicemen and women like a "hug of appreciation." To date 14\,146 quilts have been donated to our American Heroes. Over 100 quilts a month are shipped to Bagram Afghanistan to cover injured troop as they start their journey home\, and toward recovery. Quilts are also sent to the Wounded Warrior Battalion at Joint Base Lewis McCord.\n\n \n\n For more information: www.americanheroquilts.com. Local sew dates are held each month.
