June 21st the Port Orchard Market is participating in the Alzheimers Association's "The Longest Day of the Year Event" to raise funds for the Alzheimers Association. We are calling our event "Port Orchard Cares" from 10am to 9:30pm (just after sunset on the longest day of the year) businesses at The Market will contribute 10% of their sales revenue that day to the Alzheimers Association. In addition\, we will hold a raffle that day for anyone to buy tickets at $10 each for a lot of great prizes. We may also have live music at the end of the day at the Market stay tuned!\n\n \n\nOur team is registered on the Longest Day of the Year as Port Orchard Cares --other businesses can join the team or start their own if any other businesses are inclined to participate that day in raising funds for Alzheimers Research and Education.\n\nOR if you want to contribute an item for the raffle we would appreciate that. OR just come on in to the Market that day and do business with one of our businesses and contribute to the event the way. OR you can contribute directly online through our page to the Alzheimers Association. We are joining others around the world to honor people living with Alzheimer's\, their caregivers\, and those lost to the disease\, while raising funds and awareness to advance the care\, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.Today\, an estimated 47 million people across the world are living with dementia. This number is set to skyrocket to 75 million by 2030. In the United States alone\, more than 15 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer's and dementia.
