Sidney Art Gallery - June Featured Artist Show - Pat Meras

The Sidney Art Gallery will feature Port Orchard artist Pat Meras June 5^th – 30^th  with a public reception on Sunday June 10^th, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  Meras describes her art as an attempt to convey an emotional and intuitive response to the mystery and serenity of the landscape in light and shadow.  A working artist for over 30 years, Meras is presently working full time in her studio and "en plein air" (in the open air).  Meras’ work has earned her recognition and over 35 awards in regional, national and international exhibitions.  Her paintings have been featured in the premier publications for pastel painters, Pastel International and Pastel Journal Magazines.  She’s been published in Whatcom Museum’s  An Enduring Legacy,  Women Painters of Washington 1930-2005, Best of America Pastel Artists, Vol 11,  Washington En Plein Air, Vol 1 & 2 and Montana Sketchbook.  She is a signature member of Pastel Society of America and Northwest Pastel Society, an elected member of Women Painters of WA, a member of Plein Air WA, and PAL.  Recently involved in collaboration with a group of local artists, her work was included in the 10th Northwest Biennial at the Tacoma Art Museum.  Swedish Hospital in Issaquah and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Care Alliance in Seattle are among those who have included her work in their permanent collections.
