OK baseball fans, get you're game faces on...this one's gonna be a battle!
On Saturday April 16th your 4-time STATE CHAMPION SK Wolves will be defending their 2015 State Title against our rival Gig Harbor Tides at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma. And if that wasn't enough, The Elton Goodwin Memorial Foundation has partnered with the Gig Harbor Boosters to bring you the 1st Annual 'Tribute To Our Troops' baseball game!!
TRIBUTE TO OUR TROOPS 2016
The ceremonies will be opened with a keynote speech from Washington State Representative Jesse Young; and followed by a Presentation of The Colors by the South Kitsap ROTC; and the National Anthem performed by the Gig Harbor Choir. When the teams take the field, each of the 48 players and coaches will be wearing special edition camo-print uniforms that are embroidered with the Name & Rank of a Troop from the Kitsap and Key Peninsulas. Covering Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Vietnam and the Korean War, these 48 young men from our communities each gave their lives in the line of duty; and we are honored to pay tribute to their sacrifices.
We are working with local military support groups to contact the families of as many of these Troops as possible, and are requesting those families to be our guests of honor at the game. Following the game the players from each school will present their jerseys to those families in attendance.
Parking and admission at Cheney Stadium are FREE, but we're using color coded tickets (Maroon camo for SK, Blue camo for GH) as part of a 'sales contest' between the SK & GH Little Leagues. The tickets will be tallied during the game, and the Little League group who brings the most guests will receive a $500 Grant for their 2016 season!
Proceeds from advertising sponsorships, in-game raffles, and merchandise sales at this locally televised event go to benefit:

- Gig Harbor Baseball Boosters
