What is Relay For Life?
Since 1985, people across the globe have partpicated in Relay For Life to celebrate life, remember those lost, and fight back against cancer. Teams form ranging from 10-15 friends, family members, or co-workers. Each member commits to fundraise $100 for the American Cancer Society. Through letter writing, emails, bake sales, garage sales, and countless other fundraisers, teams raise money to help fund the mission of the American Cancer Society. Then at the actual Relay event held on June 1-2 at the South Kitsap High School track, teams walk around the clock (because cancer never sleeps), and the entire community comes together to honor our survivors and pledge to contuine to fight back.
Your reasons for walking in the Relay For Life are as unique and special as the story that motivates you. This is your opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and remember people we have lost, but also to raise funds and awareness to help save lives. Because of your support, we are creating a world where cancer can't claim another year of anyone's life. You are helping create a world with less cancer and more birthdays!
